The following races in Denmark (and the Nordic countries) are recommended for runners and orienteers:

Running

Reersoe Run - a Sunday in March along beautiful paths by the windy coast of Reersoe. A small and less known race with app. 50 participants, app. 5 miles.

People Park's Fun Run - a serial monthly race of very high quality, using a looped course in a Roskilde park. Lots of prizes for everyone and a local enthusiasm.

City Run - a nice 5 or 10 K road race in central Copenhagen in May. Sparta are not superior organizers but you will always find a high quality field of runners.

The Christianhavn Mile (7,5 K = 1 Danish Mile) - a serial race in Copenhagen with runners from clubs and companies throughout the city. A cool monthly race by Amager Athletics.

BT Half Marathon - this well organized half marathonby SNIK Athletics uses a flat and scenic course around Lyngby. Thousands of participants and a strong field.

Great Belt Nature Marathon - possibly Denmark's most beautful marathon. The running clubs of West Zealand have established this race as a new classic.

Roskilde Road Race - a high intensity evening race, carried out on a looped course through central Roskilde. Offered by athletics club Hellas in august.

Hans Christian Andersen Marathon - the running clubs of Odense er great marathon organizers, and this great marathon simply works.

Eremitage Run - Denmarks most well known race on a tough and hilly course. KIF Athletics have set the price far too high, but you must try this classic.

Champagnegaloppen - a great new years event by Koege Athletics: A fast course, a quality field of runners, champagne and cake after the event. Try it.

Orienteering

New Years Relay - a tradition that can't be missed. Every club goes here to show their strength. Holbaek Orienteering have kept it going for decades.

Sverige-premiären - Sweden's start of the season in Skane around 1st of March, offered by Pan-Kristianstad. You will find night, relay and long.

Easter Runs - Denmark's 3-days spring classic in the dune terrains of Jutland. Denmark's largest orienteering event in the most difficult terrains of the country.

Danish Championships - night, sprint, ultra, middle, long and relay. Championships are open for all: Difficult courses, new maps and a high quality field.

Zealand Championships - long and relay. Also a quality event, typically offered in May.

Norwegian Spring - in april Halden Skiklubb offers an international top event in the challenging terrains of the town. Three races: Night, middle and long.

Tiomila - the relay with the strongest teams. The world elite are all here. This event is the Le Mans race of orienteering, great to run or watch.

Jukola - the world's largest orienteering relay with 12.000 participants. This race is for elite and fun orienteers alike, through the night into the day.

City Orienteering - a unique race through the streets of central Copenhagen, offered by Lyngby Orienteering. This is a rare event not to be missed.

O-ringen - this 5-days event is the world's largest orienteering competition. This is the Mecca for orienteerers that any orienteer must try.

Midgardsormen - is Denmark's great ultra-relay, where every club must show it's strength. Like Tiomila and Jukola, it runs through the night into the day.

The Giants' Mile (Jaettemilen) - a marathon for orienteers with a joint start. A physically demanding end of the season, by the club OK73.
